The rule looks back 30 days. So the real deadline is 1 December.
Shopify keeps no price history. If nothing records your prices in December, you have no prior price to show in January.
The one idea to understand
The prior price is not your MRP.
- ₹999 the MRP you strike through
- ₹799 the price just before the sale
- ₹699 the lowest price in the last 30 days
Rule 4(13): when you announce a price reduction, show the lowest price of the previous thirty days beside it.
From 1 January 2027

Quick answers
Does this apply to a brand selling only its own products?
Rule 4 applies to every e-commerce entity, and the 2020 Rules say that includes single-brand retailers selling their own goods online. Ask a lawyer if your situation is unusual.
My products always show a struck-through MRP. Does that count as a discount?
On the ordinary reading, yes: a higher price struck through next to a lower one announces a reduction. Coupons, bundles and bank offers have not been clarified yet.
What about products already discounted when I install?
Shopify keeps no price history, so nothing can be recovered. Enter the prior price yourself, import a CSV, or restart the offer after 30 days of recording.
Is the self-audit certificate official?
No authority issues it and no format is prescribed. It is your own signed declaration; MRPReady gives you the checklist and records it.
Does the app edit my theme or see my customers?
No. The storefront parts are blocks you add in the theme editor, and the app asks for product access only: no customers, no orders.
